TRADE-IN · ONE TRANSACTION, NO GAP ON THE RAMP
Trade up. Keep flying
R22 time built and ready for an R44? Moving up to turbine? APEX takes your Robinson in trade against a factory-new order or an available aircraft, combining both sides into a single transaction. Keep flying yours until the next one is ready, eliminating downtime and simplifying the process.

How an APEX trade runs
- 01Tell us what you fly, model, serial, times, condition.
- 02The APEX team values it against the live market and the current overhaul pricing, not a guess.
- 03Deposit on the next one. Either a factory new order or an in-stock aircraft, and keep flying yours.
- 04Trade at delivery. One closing: your aircraft in, the next one out.
Appraised by the shop that maintains them
Most trade quotes are a broker's opinion. Ours comes from the APEX team that inspects and maintains Robinsons every week. We read the logbooks, weigh the time left to overhaul, and price it against what is actually selling, then provide a firm offer to use on your next aircraft.
One deal, one partner, no crossover
Sell private while you order new and you run two timelines, two negotiations, and possible downtime. A trade collapses that into one number and one partner, the sale and the purchase on a single contract. You stop carrying the risk of holding and selling an airframe while you wait, and your trade gets serviced, marketed, and resold by the same shop that maintained it.
The whole move, under one roof
A trade is more than a price. APEX carries the rest of the move too: a pre-buy on the aircraft you are stepping into, storage between airframes, export and shipping if it is leaving the country, and the maintenance that keeps both aircraft legal. One point of contact, from your current tail number to your next.
Two ways to trade your Robinson
The APEX trade above keeps you flying, deposit on the next aircraft, trade at delivery. Robinson also runs a factory trade-in program where your aircraft ships to Torrance for a written offer and the credit applies to a new Robinson. Both run through an authorized dealer, we'll lay out the numbers on each.
Trade-in, FAQ
- Can I keep flying my helicopter while I trade up?
- Yes, that's the point of an APEX trade. Put a deposit on your next Robinson, keep flying your current one, and trade it in at delivery, so you're never a season without an aircraft.
- Who appraises my helicopter, and against what?
- The APEX team that maintains Robinsons. We read your logbooks, weigh the hours and calendar left to overhaul, and price the aircraft against what is actually selling, then put one number against your next one.
- My Robinson is near overhaul, can I still trade it?
- Yes, and it is often the best time. Instead of writing a check for a major overhaul, you put the aircraft's remaining value toward a newer one and let us handle the math.
- What can I trade toward?
- A factory-new Robinson order or an available aircraft, R22 to R44, R44 to R66, or a newer example of what you fly now.
- Is this the same as Robinson's trade-in program?
- No. The APEX dealer trade lets you keep flying and trade at delivery. Robinson also runs a factory program where your aircraft ships to Torrance for a written offer, we handle both. See the Robinson trade-in program page.
