ROBINSON FACTORY TRADE-IN PROGRAM · VIA APEX, AUTHORIZED DEALER

The Robinson trade-in program

Robinson Helicopter Company runs a factory trade-in program that lets current owners trade an R22, R44, or R66 toward a new Robinson, an alternative to a major overhaul. The program is handled through an authorized dealer: you submit photos and logbooks, Robinson issues a written offer within 14 business days, and the credit applies to your next aircraft. APEX is that dealer for Florida and the Northeast.

What is the Robinson trade-in program?

It is Robinson's own program for moving owners into a newer aircraft: trade your current Robinson, send it to the factory, and apply the credit to a new one, instead of overhauling an aging airframe. Robinson frames it as a way to get into a more modern helicopter with the latest safety and avionics. Every trade is processed through an authorized dealer.

“The new trade-in program underscores Robinson Helicopter's commitment to prioritizing safety and reliability across its products.”
David Smith, President & CEO, Robinson Helicopter Company

Which Robinsons qualify?

Per Robinson, the following models are eligible to trade in:

  • R22 Beta II
  • R44 Cadet
  • R44 Raven I
  • R44 Raven II
  • R66

Credit applies toward a new Robinson, including the R66 NxG. APEX confirms current eligibility and terms with Robinson before you commit.

How does the Robinson trade-in program work, step by step?

  1. 01Submit current photos and complete logbooks to APEX, your authorized dealer
  2. 02Robinson reviews the aircraft records and condition
  3. 03A written trade-in offer is issued within 14 business days
  4. 04On acceptance, APEX coordinates delivery of the aircraft to Robinson’s Torrance, CA facility (transport costs are the owner’s)
  5. 05Robinson performs a final visual inspection within 30 business days of receipt; if airworthy, trade-in credit is issued
  6. 06You have 60 business days from credit issuance to order your new Robinson through APEX

Program terms (14-business-day offer, 60-business-day order window, 30-business-day inspection on receipt, Torrance delivery, airframe and engine airworthy, transport costs on the owner) are per Robinson's published program, APEX confirms the current details for your aircraft.

Why does it go through an authorized dealer like APEX?

Because Robinson runs the program that way, and because the offer reflects how well your aircraft is presented. As a Robinson Diamond service center, APEX knows what Robinson looks for, organizes your logbooks and condition record, submits the package, coordinates delivery to Torrance, and orders your new aircraft when the credit lands. One point of contact, start to finish.

Robinson factory trade-in vs an APEX dealer trade

Two ways to move up. The factory program sends your aircraft to Robinson and issues credit toward a new one. The APEX dealer trade-in lets you keep flying your Robinson and put a deposit on the next one, then trade at delivery, limiting downtime. We will lay out both numbers so you can choose.
