Robinson R88
Robinson's largest helicopter: one or two pilots, up to eight passengers, and a 950+ shp Safran Arriel 2W turbine. A flat-floor cabin that converts between passenger, cargo, and litter layouts. Starting at $3.3 million, highly equipped as standard. Certification is underway at RHC targeting 2029, and APEX is taking deposits now.

The cabin
275 cubic feet on an all-new flat floor: 90 for the crew, 145 in the main cabin, 40 of cargo. Forward and club seating, a litter medical layout, or an empty aft cabin for freight. Large sliding doors on both sides and a fold-down, truck-bed style rear door for simplified cargo loading. Cyclic controls mount on either side and remove for a non-rated passenger.
The panel
Large Garmin G500H TXi displays and touchscreen GTN navigators with a crew alerting system. The 4-axis autopilot is standard, with level mode, hover assist, limit cueing, low and high speed protection, and low altitude protection. Type-certified for optional single-pilot IFR operations.
Built-in protection
Dual hydraulics for pitch and roll on the critical flight controls. Health usage monitoring (HUMS) standard, to catch issues before they become downtime. Standard inlet barrier filter, impact-resistant windshields, and full LED exterior lighting: pulsed landing and taxi lights, tail rotor lighting, scene and entry lights.
Mission equipment & support
Aerial firefighting, medical, utility, and tourism from one airframe. OEM options include a 3,000-lb HEC-rated cargo hook, utility basket, wire strike protection kit, pop-out floats, and a firefighting water tank on high skids. Every R88 includes the Safran Serenity Package: 2,000 hours or 5 years of immediate, direct engine support from Safran.

The starting price is $3.3 million for the highly equipped standard aircraft (RHC, Oct 2025). Certification is targeted for 2029; the delivery schedule is not yet published.
